Buying A Pug Puppy

Pug Rescues do not breed pugs.
We also do not make specific breeder referrals

What we can do is provide advice to those who are looking to buy a puppy.  Pug puppies are all adorable, and it is very tempting to make an impulse decision to buy one, but that can be a big mistake.  Poorly bred pugs can have many expensive  medical problems throughout their lives, or even have greatly shortened lifespans.  Some of them may develop temperment problems.  You may even pay a lot more for a poorly bred pug than one from a responsible breeder. When you buy a pug puppy from a pet store or an irresponsible breeder, you are contributing to the demand for poor quality pugs, and puppy mills and other irresponsible breeders will be more than happy to continue the supply.  Puppy mills and irresponsible breeders do not care about the puppy, they just care about the dollar.  Please resist the temptation to buy pug puppies on the whim.  Research. Find a responsible breeder and wait for one of his or her puppies if necessary.  Buying a pug puppy means entering a 14-18 year commitment -waiting six months for a healthy, well bred puppy is well worth it.
